The product is a highly adhesive product consisting of butyls and EPDM rubber. Pigments and antioxidants are added to add color and eliminate oxidization of the product. Q-217 is supplied with a permanently adhered fleece backing on one side and a silicone release paper on the other. The product is highly desirable because it cannot be stretched in the uncoiling direction but can be easily stretched or formed across the web, thus allowing the tape to conform to the surface it is being applied which results in a smooth transitional joint.
